Game Review: Mass Effect 3

Mass Effect 3

Mass Effect 3 was one of the most awaited games of the year, reason for which it is easy to understand why the delay of this game for the first trimester of 2012 was a bit of a bad news for gamers. Their impatience is justified because Mass Effect 3, the game developed by Bioware and published by Electronic Arts is the last of the Mass Effect trilogy and, more importantly, the action of the game will take place in an open and diversified environment.

Scenario
Mass Effect 3 remains a RPG ( Role Playing Game ) Game with powerful FPS ( Third Person Shooter ) influences, in which the leading character is Commander Shepard, however this time his mission is a bit more complex than in the previous two episodes.

His mission begins the moment Earth is threatened with destruction by Reaper, a race of machines that has the “bad” habit of killing everything in their path once every 50,000 years.

Objective: saving the Earth and the entire galaxy!
Apparently, Shepard’s mission is pretty simple: he must create a coalition between all civilizations of the galaxy to launch an attack against the Reaper to avoid extinction. Obviously, things are not that easy, especially since Shepard has an extra enemy. Cerberus, an extremist organization.

All these things ensure us that the Mass Effect 3 universe will not only include Earth, but other civilizations like Salarian or Quarian, but also a plot full of interest for Cerberus. And not least, we bet that the final fight for survival against the Reaper machines will be spectacular.

Gameplay
Details about the Mass Effect 3 gameplay are limited in this stage of the development. Still, based on latest information, the gameplay will mostly be the same as the one in Mass Effect 2. Still, weapons are no longer going to be limited based on category and they can be customized based on the mission and player’s preferences.

Multiplayer
We have read a lot of rumors according to which Mass Effect 3 will also come with a multiplayer module. Bioware refused to comment on this, however we must consider the fact that the first two Mass Effect games did not had multiplayer support so the chances are not so good.

Availability
Mass Effect 3 will be released in the first trimester of 2012 and will be available on the following gaming platforms: PC, Xbox 360, Playstation 3.
